Compen Daisy With Skipper

 On a pleasant October afternoon I spied this butterfly enjoying my cowpen daisies. I think it is a Sachem Skipper. I was not able to get a clear picture of it.

Simple Pleasure – Finding a monarch chrysalis on another lovely October Day

Oh the wonder and excitement of viewing a beautiful chrysalis hanging daintily from this green wire in my yard! I’ve been searching my yard since all of the caterpillars had stripped the milkweed plant a couple of days ago and crawled off under the cover of darkness to make their chrysalises.
